After a great season the Junior Section sat down to a well earned dinner followed by their annual awards ceremony. Over 90 players were served a 3 course meal prior to the coaches' reports and the annual awards. The Youth Section Chairman started the proceeding by thanking the coaches of not only the Junior section but also the Mini section - "Every Sunday and often weekday evenings the coaches are helping the club's 270 players to compete against clubs from as close as Bakewell and as far away as Italy - this year's U15s went on tour to Italy winning all their matches. This year the U13 and U14 squads reached the semi finals of the NLD plate competitions and the Colts one stage further, reaching the Finals at Kestevens."

Dan Hooton who represented the 1st XV at the dinner remembered starting his playing career at U7 under the tutorage of Bill Halstead (U7 & U8 Coach) who is still taking the newcomers and starting them on the road to playing top class rugby. Dan said "I was at the inaugural Junior Dinner 10 years ago and it is great to see that we are still producing players to feed our Senior section - over 70% of the Senior section players have come through the Youth Section".

Well done to all players and the winners.
